Mrs. Aparna Erry, Principal of DAV Public School, Sector-14, Gurugram is an accomplished educator and a visionary leader. With a passion for fostering academic excellence and holistic development alongside a stellar academic background, including degrees from esteemed institutions like Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi School of Economics and IIM Ahmedabad, she has dedicated her career to empowering students and shaping their future of education. With 25 years of experience, including 23 years in administrative roles, she has pioneered various initiatives and contributed significantly to academic excellence, innovative teaching practices, and school accreditation.
She is the proud recipient of the coveted Mahatma Hansraj Award along with a Gold Medal and Certificate for her valuable contribution in the field of school education. The award, presented to the Principals adjudged as the best by DAV College Managing Committee, was presented to Mrs.Erry by Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri ji, President, DAV College Managing Committee, at Samarpan Diwas, a resplendent ceremony organised on 20th April 2024, at Panipat, Haryana, to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Hans Raj. In January 2024, she was honoured with “Durga Award” at the International Women Summit by the Haryana State Commission for Women in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya Ji. On 26 January 2020, the Gurugram administration also bestowed her with “Certificate of Recognition” for best teaching practices.
Other outstanding achievements include Principal for Innovation Award by Youth Ideathon 2023, International Dimension Award – 2020-23 from British Council, Life Empowerment Award for Schools – 2020-21 and 2018-19 for "Principal Leadership for Outstanding Endeavours", REX Karmaveer Global Education Change Champion Fellow and Award Recipient 2019 for social volunteering and values-based holistic education.
Her extensive experience in managing challenging responsibilities in various prestigious committees has consistently earned her trust and recognition. Her notable roles include serving CBSE as the City Coordinator for the schools of Gurugram-A Group, for Teacher’s Eligibility Tests and as the District Level Coordinator for the National Achievement Survey (NAS). Time and again, she is also entrusted with the responsibilities of Chief Nodal Supervisor, Centre Superintendent and Inspection Committee Member among others by CBSE.
Furthermore, she is the Vice President of the HPSC (Haryana Progressive Schools Conference) Gurgaon Chapter 2024. She has demonstrated leadership as the Chairperson of the Gurgaon Progressive Schools Council from May 2019 to July 2021. Additionally, she served as an Executive Committee Member of the National Progressive Schools Council (NPSC).
